Problem Solving Workshop

In this workshop on Day 1, we cover a number of practical forms of problem solving. The techniques used are concrete and immediately applicable. We will cover three forms of problem solving, and additional techniques for noticing problems:

• 4C (Simple Problem Solving)
• 4SPS (4-Step Problem Solving).
• Learning to see problems

The techniques will be explained, but the emphasis will be on practical practice using real-life situations.

On Day 2 we will cover more advanced techniques for more complex problems and additional skills required in the process. We will work with the Problem Solving A3 containing:

• Specific additional skills required at A3
• Additional troubleshooting techniques
• Examples of Problem Solving A3s.
• Practical exercises
• Coaching of team leaders and operators

All participants in this training will receive a copy of the booklet Problem solving 101: a simple book for smart people and a copy of the book The A3 workbook: unlock your problem-solving mind (available in English only). This is a practical exercise book with commonly used techniques for A3 and problem solving.
