Kaizen event

A Kaizen event is used to dramatically improve processes and is often used in conjunction with Value Stream Mapping to map the process and design a future or ideal situation.

Kaizen is the Japanese word for continuous improvement and focuses on improving a so-called "created" problem. We have achieved a certain level, but want to do much better. The term is used for an improvement process where we go through all parts of an A3, taking a structured approach to figuring out your issue, analyzing it, coming up with and testing ideas, and implementing successful practices. By going through all the steps with a team of between 6 and 12 participants, we get a common and supported understanding of the ambitions, opportunities and possibilities to achieve growth. A Kaizen event is used to drastically improve processes and is often used in conjunction with Value Stream Mapping to map the process and design a future and/or ideal situation. A Kaizen event is also used to address (larger) issues that are not directly about one process or product. We then go through the same steps, only the content will be different.
