Be convinced

What will this training bring you?

You will learn to coach multiple projects at different levels of the organization. You will ensure that these projects contribute to actual (final) results.
1
You will learn to assume a facilitating and a coaching role in creating and realizing A3s and improvement plans at the strategic, departmental and process levels.
2
You will learn how to translate strategic organizational goals into departmental goals and concrete process objectives.
3

This is what you will learn

You already have extensive experience in the application of Lean at Value Stream level, and you are ready for your next step in development: getting to work at all layers of the organization to achieve a structural culture change. You understand the challenges of your organization, and are able to translate these challenges into countermeasures for each layer of the organization. Ultimately, you will create an organization capable of continuous improvement. During the course you will also carry out a project in your own organization.

Preliminary: Intake interview

The training is started with an intake interview, in which the content of the program is explained and together we look at the possibilities and the starting point for the realization of a project in your own organization.

Lean Transformation

The first two days are dedicated to shaping a Lean transformation through the Lean infrastructure & the Lean Transformation Model.

  • Overview and deepening A3 methodology.
  • Creating a strategic plan for the entire organization and creating a dialogue between the different layers in the organization.
  • Translate strategic organizational goals into departmental goals and concrete process goals (strategy deployment).
  • Setting up and using an Obeya (and practicing this in a simulation).
  • 8 basic issues in an organization.
  • Lean leadership and standard work for a leader.
Analyzing problems

Days 3 and 4 are devoted to analyzing and solving the real issues in the organization (value stream improvement).

You will learn:

  • Gemba walk and methods to see the real issues of the organization.
  • Finding source causes and formulating countermeasures.
  • Fulfilling a coaching role in creating and achieving A3s at the strategic, departmental and process levels.
  •
Organization A3

The last two days are devoted to development of an organizational A3 and guidance and coaching on its implementation. Coaching multiple projects at different levels of the organization and ensuring that these projects contribute to actual end results.

Practice assignment and certification

We believe; Lean is not something you learn from a booklet or a PowerPoint. That's why a hands-on improvement project is part of this training. During the first session, the trainers will help you determine the scope of your path for certification. You may also already have an issue/project in mind to work on. We are happy to help you successfully complete this training!

The certification consists of two parts: first, taking a written exam on the theory covered in the training and studied by you. This test consists of 10 open-ended questions, you will have 90 minutes to answer and it is not an open-book test. The topics tested will cover the material covered during the training days and the distributed literature (articles and books). The second part is a company visit (Gemba Walk) in which you show how your organization is managed, which steps you have taken in the Lean transformation and how you have developed yourself in Lean knowledge and skills. If you achieve a passing grade (at least a 5.5 on a scale of 10) for both parts, you will receive a Lean Master Black Belt certificate.

Experiences
"The course provides a perfect opportunity to (re)examine your organization (issues) with the collective knowledge of both your fellow students and the instructor."

Michiel Bleijenbergh

Lean Advisor at the Department of Public Works

"The master black belt training is challenging! You are put to work because you have to constantly reflect on how strategy deployment works in your organization. In addition, there are lots of examples, lots of exchange with fellow participants and there is room for personal development on coaching an A3."

Inge Otten

Group Business Navigator at IKEA

"You literally get a full toolbox to work with as a Lean consultant."
