UMCG washing process

For many years we have enjoyed working with the people at the Logistics Center of the UMCG. They take care of all goods flows, of patients, medicines, laundry and files. In short: they are the spider in the web for all logistics in the hospital, but also for the Martini hospital and Ommelander Ziekenhuis Groningen. We trained people, organized workshops and ran joint kaizen improvement projects. In one of those projects, we mapped out the laundry process with the external supplier using a Value Stream Map and initiated a number of countermeasures that resulted in various benefits for both the external supplier and the UMCG. A real win-win project!
